CBS News - January 26, 2014 - The new sound (and business) of music
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-new-sound-and-business-of-music/

cue up the 7-minute video clip to the 4:35 mark - "Today's musicians would be wise to follow the business model of a San Francisco band, that found fortune long before the internet age, the Grateful Dead. The Dead encouraged their tie-dyed fans to record concerts and trade tapes. Others in the music business considered that stealing. They were the first social-media band." (As the narrator speaks this, the video shown and the audio played is Dancin' In The Streets - from the 1967 free concert the Dead played while CBS was filming the Hippie Temptation mockumentary.)

What Music Business Model on the Internet is CBS talking about?
